I know the iPhone 4 came out but I still think iPhone 3G/3Gs is a lot best than the iPhone 4.

The Upside

Microsoft exchange can be used with iPhone 3G. I'm not familiar with the software because I never used it but agreeing to Apple it's basically created for corporate users. Apple wants the next iPhone to be used by both the regular individuals and by firm people.

It also has Gps, yes you read it right, it has a built in Gps system on the iPhone 3G. So basically you can go everywhere and track yourself on your phone; it tracks you by getting your exact point from three sources, a near by Wi-Fi signal, near by cell phone towers, or directly from the Gps satellites. I give 5 Stars to Mr. Jobs for adding the Gps highLight on the next iPhone.

Not only that, the biggest surprise to iPhone fans and everyone else was the price that Mr. Jobs announced to everyone, an imaginable low price for 9 for the 8 Gb, and 9 for the 16 Gb. Now with the new iPhone 4, the iPhone 3G/3Gs's prices should hit rock bottom. With our Us economy in recession it still wouldn't stop someone like me to buy one without a second thought. After I saw the price for the 8Gb, I was just blown away and I said to myself that I will get one and I'll find the money some how to get it.

The Downside

This is the part that blows big time. You cannot buy the iPhone 3G online nor can you activate it by yourself. You have to go to an At&T store and indubitably sign a 2-year contract with At&T and pay for the iPhone 3G up front. After I heard that I became hesitant about buying it. I'm currently with T-Mobile and I understanding that I would just buy the iPhone 3G at full price, wait for couple of months for some tech guy to make a software to unlock it and use T-mobile 3G network, unfortunately that plan is in the trash. At&T has one of the worst plans I have ever seen, their bottom plan is .99 for 450 anytime minutes and with 5000 minutes for nights and weekends. Also, for the data plan, At&T has raised the price from /month to /month and they are no longer sharing their revenue with Apple, sucks for Steve Jobs. So basically if I leave T-Mobile, since my contract with them ended long time ago, and sign up with At&T, I would have to pay activation fee, plus pay /month for voice calls, plus /month for the data plan, and on top of that taxes are added.

It's Locked People

So, if you were a T-Mobile user and somehow you got your hands on an iPhone 3G, it still would be hard to unlock it because of all the restrictions Apple has placed on it. Steve Jobs emphasized that it would focus more on retention the phone from being unlocked illegally by hackers, all I can say is good luck. Hackers are everywhere and programming, gadgets, and basically anyone else about technology they will spend their time on. In France, by French law, Apple has to sell unlocked iPhones, even with popularity and with money Mr. Jobs can't sell iPhones the way he wants to the French.

Developer Program

The developer agenda was release on March 9th of 2008, I believe but strict me if I'm wrong, where Apple will share revenue with all the third-party developers for creating applications for the iPhone 3G. So, if you have a lot of time in your hands you can indubitably applications for iPhones and if habitancy buy them you get to keep 70% of the revenue. This Move by Apple indubitably boosted its popularity.

So let's look at some of the features for iPhone 3G:

I basically want the phone because it's an mp3 player plus it has a Gps system because it'll save me money from buying a Microsoft Zune and buying a Gps navigation system for my car. I would save up more and get the iPhone 4 but that phone has way too many problems, especially with the signal.

It also has a special application created by Dr. S. Mark Williams for medical students to study the human body, which favors my path. Also Mimvista created an imaginable application for doctors to keep up with their patients' condition status. As I'm typing this sentence more and more medical applications are being created by medical personnel.

Another major revision of the 3G compared with his precursor is his camera. It used to be about 2 megapixels, now Apple has cranked that up to 3.2 megapixels !! Software

Here I will be comparing Apple's iPhone 3G to Lg Cell Phones Ku990 Viewty, and will interpret in information why the Viewty is a much better option.

Both the phones have unique invent and stand out from the other phones in terms of look and feel. The dimensions of the Viewty are 103.5 x 54.4 x 14.8 mm, and weighs about 112 grams. On the front of the phone we have an impressive 3 inch touch screen display having a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Below the touch screen we have 3 general keys, the green call key, the red end key and the clear key. The clear key can be used as a backspace key in text editing or to go up one level in menu. Above the display there is a secondary Vga camera.

The iPhone 3G on the other hand has dimensions of 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm and weighs about 133 grams. The iPhone 3G also has a touch screen display of about 3.5 inches and has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Below the screen it has only 1 key which is used to return back to the menu.

Connectivity:

Lg Cell Phones have done a splendid job with this phone and have added 3G capability to it. This means faster uploads and downloads. The phone is Tri-band, this means that it can be used everywhere in the world without the fear of compatibility issues. iPhone 3G, as the name indicates also has 3G capability. The iPhone can also be used everywhere in the world since it is a quad band phone but sadly it is locked to prime providers. The phone will have to be unlocked before it can be used with any operator.

If you are finding for a Wi-Fi or a Wlan phone then sadly the Viewty is not for you as it does not have any Wlan connectivity. The iPhone on the other hand can associate to Wireless networks with it's built in Wi-Fi.

In terms of Bluetooth the Lg Ku990 is way better than the iPhone. Although iPhone 3G has the selection of Bluetooth, it can only be used for synchronization purposes. iPhone cannot replacement files via Bluetooth and since it does not have A2Dp, stereo Bluetooth headsets cannot be used with the phone. The Ku990 on the other hand can use all the features of Bluetooth without any problem. The phone can also be related to a stereo Bluetooth headset.

Memory:

The Lg Ku990 comes with an internal memory of 100 Mb. This memory can be expanded up to 2 Gb via a microSd card slot, i.e. The Viewty's memory is expandable. The Lg Cell Phone comes with a Usb cable and thus the phone can also be used as a storage device.

The iPhone on the other hand comes with an internal memory of 8 or 16 Gb. It has no card slot therefore the memory cannot be expanded. Unlike the Viewty the iPhone cannot be used as a storage device.

Camera:

In terms of camera the Lg Cell Phone is way better than the iPhone. The iPhone's camera is only 2 mega pixel, having a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. There is no flash, no auto focus and no image stabilizer. It is a simple 2 mega pixel camera. The camera also has no selection for video recording and a third party application must be used for recording videos. The recorded videos are not worth Watching as they have been taken using a 2 mega pixel camera.

The Lg Ku990 on the other hand has a 5 mega pixel camera, with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and unlike the iPhone it has all the develop options such as auto focus, image stabilization and assorted shooting modes such as landscape, beach, party, portrait, night, sport, high sensitive, continuous shot, panorama and frames. The camera also comes with a strobe flash. A strobe flash lies somewhere between an Led flash and a Xenon flash. The Ku990 can description videos without any third party application and can description in Vga resolution at 30 frames per second and in Qvga resolution at 120 frames per second. So the comparison clearly puts Lg Ku990 in the lead but die-hard apple fans will still prefer to buy the iPhone. The iPhone's software is buggy and it freezes often. Its Safari web browser does not have java or flash capability. Lg Ku990 does not suffer from any of these problems. And above all the 5 Mega Pixel camera of the Viewty clearly makes it an iPhone Killer.
