iPhone 3G

With the issue of the first iPhone, Apple's hype with the iPod was now extended with a movable suit and ready for media interchange. For lots of population it was a clear purchase, for others the high price, little 3G capabilities, and the small number of countries where the iPhone was launched, kept them sidelined.

IPhone 3G

With the 3G upgraded iPhone though, Apple keeps playing with the big boys. With the press release, our dear Steve launched it with a price of 0.....quite stunning. Hardware

Everybody nowadays knows how an iPhone looks. The slim and futuristic organize is a joy to look at. It has a high quality, high resolution 480 x 320 3.5-inch display. Unfortunately it's still a magnet for smudges and fingerprints. If you buy a white iPhone though, the fingerprints won't show that easily.

The iPhone comes in a accepted 8Gb black edition. But if you want one with 16Gb, you can choose in the middle of a black one, or a white one...just a matter of taste.

People in the Us will be a little dissapointed, because the iPhone 3G won't fit in your device's dock. Apple wants you to buy it separatly. In Europe though, the Adapter is already included in the purchase.

One very leading aspect when buying a neat piece of hardware, is the time that you can enjoy your little Toy; aka the Battery.

If you call on Gsm, you can chat for 10 hours straight. If you make calls over the 3G network though, you can bwabbel away for 5 hours.

If you're not calling then you can listen to music all day long (yes, ...24 hours) or check out videos for 7 hours.(So you can check out the two first movies of Lord of the Rings....*cheers*)

And with that comes a great revising of the sound volume and quality, the first iPhone had a pretty low volumelimit,... So to enhance the joy of listening to music or checking out videos without those white thingies in your ears, they put in some great speakers.

Another major revising of the 3G compared with his precursor is his camera. It used to be about 2 megapixels, now Apple has cranked that up to 3.2 megapixels !! Software

Easily, the most requisite expanding to the iPhone 3G (as well as the primary iPhone and iPod touch) is the App Store, which ultimately enables users to trick out their phone with whatever piece of software makes it straight through Apple's right developer screening and software testing process.

Some software is free and some is ...not free . From wikipedia to a manga reader, from business-software to games....there are tons of programs out there for the iPhone.

The price of the software varies, and it can be purchased after logging in with your iTunes account; yes you have to log in with your list even if you want to download free software.

A kinda major sticking point for some is the touchscreen keyboard, and Apple hasn't given any more of its default programs (like Sms) the increased ease of typing that comes with using the keyboard in landscape mode. This, for some, is still a drawback. Conclusion

With the iPhone 3G, Apple doesn't bring out any new features, which you can't find in any other smartphone. 3G, Gps, messaging, internet... These aren't new things. But even the would-be iPhone killers being churned out weekly haven't yet found a way to counter the iPhone's usability and seamless integration of service and software, desktop and mobile, and media and internet.

There are all the time things that could be improved, features to be added, fixes that should be applied - but from first to second gen, from year one to year two, Apple has proven itself a relentless upstart in the movable space, and is showing no signs of slowing down. All those new features give the iPhone even more request for retrial than ever, but the price is what nothing else but seals the deal.

For the same money, you'll have a difficult time seeing a great piece of hardware for 200$ (about 180 euro in Europe)
