Before I get started comparing the Cect i9 to Apple's iPhone, I must disclose that I'm a big fan of the clones and often write about them. I appreciate having an alternative to a mandated compact and I of course enjoy some of their bonus features. That said, in this record I will compare many of the features of these two phones side by side to help you determine which may be better for you.
Basic Included Features: The i9 is based on the Apple model and looks and performs practically identically. Both phones allow you to talk, text, email, web browse, listen to Mp3s, Watch Mp4s, take photos and video, and use Bluetooth. Both phones are quad bands. These features seemed so innovative a year or so ago but we've come to be so used to them, that they've come to be practically mainstream. Nonetheless, both phones comprise these features.
IPhone 3G
Size: The iPhone weighs 4.7 ounces or 133 grams and measures 4.5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide. The i9 is smaller and Lighter than this. It weighs about 100 grams. It is about .5 mm shorter and is not as fat (about 4 mm thinner.) The Apple has a 3.5 inch touch screen whereas the i9 has a 3.2 inch touch screen. Which you like better depends on how big you want your phone. Some say the larger screen is preferable but some find the Apple version too heavy and fat.
Dual Sim Versus singular Sim: The i9 is a dual sim phone which means that you can insert two sim cards into the phone. This is probably one of the most favorite features of the clones because this allows you to have two phone numbers or two plans. You can have a talk plan on one carrier and then use a prepaid sim on the other to browse the Internet as needed on the cheap.
Built In Radio Vs Software And Apps: The Cect i9 has a built in Radio. You don't need any software or applications to use it. The iPhone does not have a radio but, as I understand it, there are apps available for this (which you'll have to pay for). And, I have heard that you can use Aol radio as well, although I don't have personal sense with this.
Removable Battery: The iPhone has a built in Battery that you can reCharge but can not take off yourself. Again, I do not have personal sense with this, but I'm told that having the dealer replace the battery for you costs about . The i9 and all of the clones have a removable battery that you just pop out and replace.
Shake And Tilt: Many of the clones (including the 9) have what is called "shake control." This means that you can enlarge songs or go to "next song" or "previous song" by shaking the phone. You don't have to scroll around. You can also tilt the phone and the photo will go from scenery to portrait.
Memory: Here's one place where Apple wins. The iPhone is available in 8Gb or 16Gb. The i9 can accommodate up to 8Gb, which in my sense is enough, but I'm sure some would disagree with me.
Price: Here, the knock off wins hands down. You can get an 8Gb Apple for about 0, but that's only with a 2 year very pricey At&T contract. If you want the 16Gb model, you'll pay about 0, again with a contract. The i9 iClone will typically run in the low 0 range, but you don't have to have a compact and can go with anyone low cost service you prefer. You just insert your Gsm sim card and you're off.
The bottom Line On Which Is Better: Which phone you think better depends on what you are seeing for in a phone. If the novelty status of the Apple appeals to you, you'd likely be happier to go ahead and pull out your wallet. But, if you want the technology and features without the high price and you don't mind not having a logo of fruit on your phone, the clone may very much motion to you.
